我在一 九四九年五月踏上台灣寶島，七月，澎湖即發生「山東流亡學校煙台聯合中學匪諜」冤案，那是對我的當頭棒喝，也是對所有的外省人一個下馬威。當年中共席捲大 陸，人心浮動，蔣介石總統自稱「我無死所」，國民政府能在台灣立定腳跟，靠兩件大案殺開一條血路，一件「二二八」事件懾伏了本省人，另一件煙台聯合中學冤 案懾伏了外省人，就這個意義來說，兩案可以相提並論。

派軍隊"清鄉"向來都是軍閥整肅統治區反抗事件的工具,二二八不是台灣才有。國民黨在大陸各地各省,對反抗事件的回應,就是派軍隊下鄉"抓人"--以刀槍和人民的血淚來立威。這也是為什麼,國民黨那麼快速的失去民心,丟掉大陸。

The 228 Incident, also known as the 228 Massacre, was an anti-government uprising in Taiwan that began on February 27, 1947, and was violently suppressed by the Kuomintang (KMT) government. Estimates of the number of deaths vary from 10,000 to 30,000 or more.[1][2] The Incident marked the beginning of the Kuomintang's White Terror period in Taiwan, in which thousands more inhabitants vanished, died, or were imprisoned. The number "228" refers to the day the massacre began: February 28, or 02-28.

陸一特

在高登島上,精通據點火炮槍械的是一群老兵。他們是陸軍第一特種兵。剛到島上時,是這群老兵教我熟悉島上的環境,如何操作30/50機槍來實施驅離射擊,如何善用坑道的泉水燒開水給全據點弟兄,在伸手不見五指漆墨夜色中和狗兒一起站衛兵,提防對岸的水鬼摸上來。那時島上天天都是構築工事--挖坑道,興建新的岸哨據點;構工休息時,聽到這些老兵談論退伍後要如何大展長才。台灣家鄉的父母,那等待許久的女朋友和一個自由的天空,都是支撐大伙兒向前再邁進一步的動力。"去你的主義領袖責任榮譽國家,平安退伍回家才是真的",這句話在日子難過時--在馬祖冬天刺骨寒風中,波濤波濤洶湧海灘上扛一包包沈重資材上岸時;在執行那些永無盡頭的演習中--老兵們特愛掛在嘴上。

點綴島上黃土坡地上是反空降與固守海岸線如的高大瓊麻、帶尖扎人的南國薊和不能入藥的野當歸,更多的是造林時種上的相思樹和苦楝--除了日常的衛哨訓練和運補勤務,高登島上,人人都還認養數十株樹苗。長官有令,這是特地由台灣運來造林的,可要細心照顧了。樹苗上都要掛上個小牌子,寫上名字,以示負責的。這樹苗旁還必須圍上一圈由芒草桿加鐡線編成的圈欄,因為冬天刮著有如刀割,連人都受不了的東北季風。每天傍晚將當天使用過數回,由清澈變濁黃的水,仔細的澆在每人認養的樹苗上。三五個月後,相思、苦楝慢慢長高,抬頭望眼看去,那滿山遍野,儘是對故鄉的相思和回不了家的愁苦。

那一年冬天,野當歸的白花遍地開,謠指部的傳聞也成真: 國防部來了一紙命令,要一群梯數少於陸一特,又僅服役一年十個月的同伴,立刻打包退伍回家。有人歡天喜地的,因為馬上要回家了,而那些還有半年多的陸一特,卻被要求服完三年的兵役......那幾天晚上,高登島上傳出許多自裁意外--其中一個陸一特是我認識的人--他人長的瘦瘦黑黑的中等身材,脾氣好,臉上總是有笑容,總是鼓勵著大伙兒,期待著回家的日子--那天晚上,他拿了包不曉得那來的老鼠藥,吞了下肚。全連弟兄在隔天早上聽到這消息時,每個人的臉上的表情是那種很恨又很不甘心的表情....特別是他的同梯好弟兄們....

This was cited in a speech where the speaker implied that, due to Taiwan's geographic location, history may very well repeat itself again.

Retro: In this dark forest

On the edge of a humble pond, there is a fireball of many fireflies.

搭上最近的流行感冒,工作告一段落,下班後想到診所拿藥,門外就看到人山人海的一群男女老少,全都在等著醫師診斷--個個流鼻水,咳呀咳的。家中二個小朋友,前陣子有打預防疫苗,身體反應還算好。診所外又有寒流要來,今年冬天,真是冷哦。

Strawberry season

The weather is getting colder and strawberries are just in season. A neighbor sent his daughter to share this news: their first harvest was ready. Joy and Lisa, our daughters, got to share their happiness and the fresh taste of this year's strawberry - not from the supermarket, but from our very own small gardens.

This tiny patch of strawberries has been a daily topic of our family talk. Our kids, especially the elder one, enjoys watching flowers coming into red strawberries. That berry from our neighbor's kept her smiling all afternoon. Soon, it will be our turn to bring fresh berries to visit our neighbors.

Retro: It's Monday morning

On this wall, there is this painting, 'Monday Morning.' In this picture, there are travelers, on saddles, beside beasts of burden, next to a well, all readying themselves for the journey ahead. In the background is a murky blend of dimly-lit sky, fading stars and a vast dessert. Although everything seems hazy and unsure, there is something inexplicable shinning in the faces of these travelers, something all living needs, besides a map and a prayer, to carry out a day's pursuit. This little charity drive

It is the day before Christmas, and students in the classroom respond to that charity call inside their textbook, Unit 02, The Chain of Love. Each of them not only has learned a touching lesson, but also decided to give their best wishes to help those in need. So happy to see kids share with others; after all, it is the spirit of Christmas.

另一半的舞台

結婚時，她老公大概沒料到張清芳和其它當代女性一般，有自己的一片天和不輸男人的能力和企圖心。婚前，有長輩送了本書，書裏夾了張字條，字條上說了要維持一個家，需要很多的＂力氣＂和＂自行體會＂。婚後，每天都是在行程表上不停的轉呀轉，和另一半的雙人舞是一步一步的建立默契，有時彼此亂了步調，踩到腳也是常事。笨手笨腳的是我，彎腰欠身一句對不起，她溫柔的手總是會再伸出來。再看看張清芳和她老公的雙人舞－幸福的她和她的復出，是歌迷的有幸；好久不見，張清芳（宋先生，你要欺負她的話，你可要小心她死忠的歌迷哦，偶們可是不分黑白，只挺她的哦）。

草莓＋蚯蚓

難得的假日，有機會將房裏雜物、心裏的雜事來整理清理。天氣變冷了，衣櫃的短衣收入箱子，換上適合冬天的排列組合。跑了趟萬和宮旁的種子行，帶回二包培植土和小朋友愛的草莓植株；有幾位社區內的爸爸們表示，在家門前種二排草莓，可比全家人開車塞在往大湖的路上值得。也順便按著網路上的教學步驟，把家裏淘汰的大垃圾箱重新整理，變成蚯蚓的家。 它應該可以消化菜葉、果皮廚餘或是冰箱內過期的水果。
