"門派"

學校的選擇：先不提入學分數高低或是學費多寡，人們口中的"名校"，其實也代表特定產業界的"門派"。特定科系的畢業生，若時間久了，在特定的業界-教育/醫療/大傳/法律/建築-因人數眾多，前後輩相互闗照的情形下，會形成所謂的"門派"。

舉例來說，有志於教育者，由師範大學起步，會在教育界獲得更多的助力。而竹科園區知名公司找工程師，是直接打電話到清華或交通大學，找學弟妹或找教授開名單。智力測驗/專業測驗/面談和身家調查？那些面試和資格審查全免，因為這些人，平時在學校，可能都曾是同實驗室的組員，彼此有什麼實力來歷和脾氣，彼此清清楚楚。

以未來的工作場所來看，問問自己，這個業界的主力選手們都來自那些＂名校＂？這個題目作的好，自然會讓你以後碰到願意提攜願意包容的學長姐，也少遇到不必要的挫折和排擠。同學們，以現在的低頭努力，挑個好學校，為自己找個好的起跑點和未來的高飛姿態。

換個角度來說，能納百川，方成大海；以後同學們若在業界裏遇上個落單的，可記得標準要齊一，別把"門派"的有色眼鏡帶上，以不同的標準苛求＂非我族類＂。

當人家問為什麼你可以開先例，別人要求照章為之時，可別回一句＂那是以前的事(內含那種你算那號人物,敢要求和我名門子弟同起同坐的態度)。＂

生命圖樣

考場內人人振筆疾書，他們身份各有不同－高中畢業生，大學生到碩士，乃至擁有博士學位者；有渾身潮牌衣著的青少年，不少中年人和幾位白髮長者，一同參加這個資格考試......感受？

目標明確又有強烈動機的，自然動作快速的到達自己想要的人生定位。生命給予的條件，人人不同；可是仍有人能善用機會，克服困難，明確規劃出藍圖，整齊拼出自己的生命圖樣。

你知道自己誰，未來的夢想是什麼，又如何鍛練，好成為最好最棒最完整的你嗎？

This license exam has broader demographics than others national exams that i have witnessed; young people as well as people well into their 50s, with high school diplomas to doctoral degrees, all attend this license exam.

If you have a clear idea of what you wanna be, certainly you will not linger here and there. We all have been given different qualities and challenges to begin this game of life. Some work hard and smart while others have a hard time grappling what is in front of them.

如此相互扞格

路很小很窄，車行不順，走走停停，有人按喇叭也改變不了路兩旁剛停好車的。看了看，這早餐店旁的大車小車，大部份都是要買早餐。那家電行前的小貨車，大喇喇停在那兒，好像要宣告自己的勢力範圍一樣。這街道兩旁堂皇放置的各式車輛，不論是臨停或長期的，在台灣各地應該都被視為理所當然了。

這舊街道據說是往日的交通要道，行人牛車往來不絶，兩旁的商家生意也很興旺；現在的老街道，看來是沒有規劃來回應現代的汽機車所形成的車流；兩旁的商店也似乎失去了往日的商機。

可惜....若有整體的規劃，若有恰當的執法，若有大家的配合，商家和消費者，用路人和行人，都能共同獲利，而非如此相互扞格。

問他，何時失去了那份眼中對學習的光采? 何時失去那初進教室時，和同學舉手搶答的快樂....

＂當學校的考卷功課和一切的一切，都是為了學測指考...在父母和老師的[好學校代表好出路]的教訓中，決定放掉心中最愛那一刻。

加油

最近中午排了幾個面對面的個別約談, 給小朋友加油, 和建議 - 若讀本太多, 回歸到基本的課本內容(複習卷)和單字7000, 設立合理的進步目標, 也適時為自己加油打氣..... 學測將近, 加油喔!!

另二個同樣讓人掛心怗記的, 一個去了日本遊學團, 一個還在為社團活動拼命,四處奔波....等他們有空,等他們不再有公假公差和國外遊學, 還是要請他們來辦公室聽我嘮叨一番。

So i have arranged a meeting with a few during the lunch break in the office to how them my concerns over their academic performance in school. A simple smile and a reminder of what they should pay attention to are emphasized. Remind them to reshape their studying strategies and narrow down scopes. So far have been able to make some grasp the point that time and tie wait for no people.

However, there are still two missing - one is on a study-tour in Japan; the other is totally committed to club activities. If and when they return, I sure will ask them to have a chat with me....

Patience

又一支紅筆,慢慢的在作文批改/建議中用光墨水....
這兩天,要再去總務那兒申請新的紅筆...

一定要問問, 也許能問到新的文具,
能讓學生不再重複錯誤。 ^_^

(ps. 在高二自然組的第一次作文作業中, 我差點忘了, 他們是第一回嘗試英文作文, 自然會有錯誤的文字組合; 會和以前一樣, 在這些作業中, 找出幾個重要的例子, 然後印成上課講義, 或上課或分組討論, 全班/全面性的訂正這些共同錯誤....)

Bad batteries

早上複習考的巡堂,任教的三個班中,有一個班的情況特令人闗心---在認真作答的同學中,有幾個熟悉的身影,手上或拿著手機瀏覽,或四處走動,或低頭玩電動玩具.....特別走進去班級,還好這幾位很快就收起雜物,開始寫考卷.....

其中一個,問清楚他的作答已結束,請他出來.....告訴他..對他課業成績的擔心,也請他中午來加強課業....他安靜的點點頭,似乎也聽懂了我說的,要好好面對他的高中課業要求......加油! 別輸給自己! 這高中階段很重要,決定你們的大學入學成績, 別輸給自己! 加油!

While students took a review quiz in the morning, I went to have a look. One class needed immediate attention, and, without causing alarms, I walked in to send a signal to a few that were using their cell-phones. Why.... Why do children grow up in different ways? Why some flourish, while others don't do that well? ......Is it true that teens, most of them, lack self-discipline? This lack of incentives and motives may stem from an abundance of material supplies?

自製三明治

小女兒晚上睡覺前，提出人意料之外的要求--不要穿紙尿布；可能因為白天她可以自己上厠所，開始覺得晚上也不要包那一包尿布。緃使屁股上被賞了重重二巴掌，還是一臉鼻涕和眼淚的堅持要求：不要穿紙尿布！她的認真表情和決絶語氣，真是令人好氣又好笑。經過商量後，決定提前給小女兒試試看不包尿布睡覺，也搬出[保潔墊]放在床墊上來預防萬一。

大女兒對自製三明治的評價：蛋皮太厚（爸爸準備的）；美奶滋太少（媽媽再加一層）。不過，還不錯吃。謝謝媽媽。

Last night, before sleeping, Lisa, our little daughter, requested that she should sleep without wearing a diaper.　She is now able to go without diapers during daytime; that nighttime diaper is just an insurance. Even though her bottom quickly received two slaps, she was still holding to that demand with tears in her eyes. After a quick discussion, it was decided then she should be given a chance, albeit a bit early. It is a bit funny to see her stating her demand with that resolute face full of tears, and with a solemn face that you find in a grown-up.

單親家庭的難處

太座不在家這二天，再次體驗單親家庭的難處。白天要忙，下班後要接小孩/幫小朋友洗澡/洗衣服/洗餐具,檢查小朋友的功課/聮絡簿,順便準備明早的早餐......小女兒晚上還咳到完全沒辦法睡覺.... 早上出門前,也是如同打仗般的忙......還好我們家的媽媽回來了!

While my wife was away on a business trip, went through what a single-parent family would go through everyday. After a hectic workday, must proceed to picking up kids, helping them get a bath, doing the laundry and dishes, checking their homework and preparing for tomorrow's breakfast.... Our little daughter had a bad cold and she couldn't sleep well at night. Glad our mama is home again.

小心謹慎

剛剛去7-11繳款，拿了蓋完店章的信用卡帳單和電信費，本要轉身離開； 不知怎麼回事,突然找起了收據.....抬頭和櫃台人員要收據...她，是一群客人圍著她要結帳要拿咖啡要收據的左支右拙，看著我的眼神好像是我要找她麻煩；好不容易說服她，收據她沒拿給我(錢包和口袋全翻給她看過)...她才由櫃台下翻找出那張收據。

哎～我怎麼日子過的這麼小心謹慎啊。

這成績？

在試題讀卡成績出爐後，出現了如此對話：

＂這孩子平時小考成績差，作業也亂寫，上課睡覺叫不醒，怎麼突然拿到這成績？＂

＂看考試時是誰監考吧～＂

＂本想說是這學生開始奮發向上了，可是手寫題一題都沒動，真是奇怪？＂

＂那個監考坐前面看雜誌的，學生其實也會看啦，真是差勁；那學生，上課時考試成績登記就多注意；這回，你就先依他考試成績登記，有機會再找其它同學來佐証查清當天狀況啦。＂

感恩珍惜

Mothers, Beware

One particular strong drive behind a person's deed comes from stories. Stories chanted, stories remembered, and stories told all build an everlasting image or paradigm that people follow subconsciously.

What stories mothers tell decide what their children may follow or avoid. A story that all mothers tell to their children is a story that reflects common themes, fears or desires within a particular people.

A country without traditional stories, or paradigms, is a country subjected to the influences of other cultures. A country which could build their own fables and children's stories is a country that has its own soul.

Political emblems and all that ubiquitous propaganda vanish as soon as their masters are out of power simply because they're not true and faithful to the nation's heart and soul.

That soul, though intangible, has the power to revive a country after 2000 years of wondering. That soul, though seemingly vulnerable, makes a world of brave samurais and devoted mothers. That very soul dictates a nation's direction, and ultimately, its destiny.

Then, are there any children's stories that you still remember? Or, do you recall only what Disney Channel has been broadcasting? Mothers, beware of the stories you tell, for they may very well make up your children's character and destiny.

政戰系統

政戰系統: 君子持之,護國之公器; 小人弄之, 逞個人私心之兇器。

記得有一回，打師對抗時，在山腳下挖陣地，抬頭聽到連長開玩笑的問輔導長,＂打仗時，輔仔，你手上的槍是對著誰?＂

手持干戈的軍人除了有保家衛國的使命/不斷的訓練和莒光日教育之外,其實身旁都有古稱"監軍",當今稱為"細胞"的政戰士官兵......

這些細胞，明的和大家是好朋友....可是私下真正的心態，完全是上級對下級的"管理和掌控" ..平時和你稱兄道弟，一臉笑容可掬地...可是背地裏，你可能袛是他的監視報告對象之一，袛是個業務項目。而你說的每一句怨言和家裏剛買的東西，都是他向上報告的內容。

報告內容往那兒去? 每個服役的士官兵，都有一個忠誠資料袋；這文件資料夾內,除了你自個兒寫的身家資料，其它一張張，都是別人針對你每一段時間，每一件重大事件的"觀察報告"。在職業軍人的昇遷調職中，"忠誠度"和"思想內容"都會被列入考核。可是，考核你的人是你看不到的，考核項目和分數，你也沒有申訴的管道。

另一種報告的結果，倒很明顯：晚點名就寢後，若晚上突然有急哨有口令，要人人下床，床前立正站好，接著連上某些幹部進來瘋狂的翻床翻內務櫃的搜東西，那是接到了報告，要找違禁品。這時，輔導長和政戰士，就會在這混亂中盯著找著他們的目標物。

輔導長和政戰士，是明的編制....細胞－或是政治作戰士兵，是暗的； 因為這回報內容裏,若有"實質收獲" 或是"配合得當",都會有獎勵 -- 榮譽假/獎金/記功等等...另有些"福利"，你我可能聽都沒聽過(退伍後的"無名"海外高額獎學金/有固定薪給的某某基金會"志工"--工作內容無外乎回報特定對象的情資等等).....重賞之下..這些細胞都很願意配合。

考核眾人的,卻沒有人可以制衡...獎金拿慣了,若沒獎金時? ......結果? 對岸就找到一個可以弄到真正機密文件資料,又是管保防的下手....當然也是用錢來買他的忠誠....

......也難怪,當初有名將挑明了說,不希望他部隊有這種事情這個編制....

＂無用物＂

記得國小時，曾有一回，某個富有又慈祥的鄰居順手給了我一個蠻精美的"無用物"。我歡天喜地的把它放在家中某個顯眼之處，就像是要向全天下人炫耀自己是一個多麼富有的小孩一樣。後來就跑出門找街坊玩伴玩耍去了，一整個下午的無憂無慮。返家後，發現那個美麗的＂無用物＂由原位消失了。原來是媽媽將它丟了，因為是舊的，是沒有用的，因為是華麗的，和家裏擺設格格不入的。就袛是一個打掃過程的必然結果。

而小孩如我，很不甘心的哭呀鬧的；好像一陣哭鬧後，結果會不一樣似的。

長大後，這些年，這旅途中也曾偶然看到精美動人的＂無用物＂；它們也不知如何的，就忽然出現，也忽然消失在生命中；＂無用物＂消失的那麼乾脆，那麼的無影無踪，那麼的無可挽回。但那被勾動的心弦，波動不止，時時刻刻提醒你，折磨著你－看呀！那些如果若能維持著，是件多麼美好的事情呀；你看，你錯失了什麼！假如你......

現在，知曉某些道理之後，看過不少別人的態度後，對這些偶而出現的＂無用物＂倒還蠻看的開的。心情調適的也快，一轉身就忘了，像個八九十歲的老頭兒，心無波瀾的繼續那日常的生活，那日常的動作。如此這般的平心靜氣，如此認命的活著。這算是一種成長還是認命的放手呢？

一群小魚

A neighbor gave us some guppies and they quickly gave birth to a school of small guppies. Lisa and Joy, love these million fish.

鄰居給我們一批孔雀魚,放到魚缸中,很快就生下一群小魚。小朋友開心的很,特別是小的Lisa,因為是她接回家的魚魚。

Education, Brainwashing and Confirmation in Individuals

The bugle is sounding, the crowd is roaring and it is only fitting to follow the drummer in this marching. Your body and soul seem work in unison with the whole crowd and you are being brainwashed. There are moments in life when one chooses what to believe in his/her whole life. Be it a radical political gathering, a traumatic experience to survive a disaster or a war, or a moment when one chooses to confront a pistol regardless of one's life. Moments like these confirm one's internal values and make us who we are throughout our life.

The issue is whether this decision is based on one's free will, or just an inevitable 'next step' in a 'calculated,' staged setting. Nazi youth rallies are often used as examples in setting up a stage to unite and consolidate its believers. These rallies created monsters who would commit horrendous crimes against humanity.

Some of the staunchest Nazi officers would go as far as murdering babies and children to achieve what they believed to be divine and holy.

There is nothing divine and holy in killing babies and children. And they did it. Simply because they believed it was 'correct.'

What has it got to do with you? You may ask. Advertisement and political propaganda all ask the same result with different degrees of persuasion techniques and brain-washing tactics employed in these Nazi Youth Rallies. Whereas, an liberal education, when it is notorious for its lax structure and failing to instill specific aims, requires one's thinking and regurgitating of what has been presented. Only through constant thinking and examining what is in front of one's eyes can one gain the true freedom of making a responsible choice. Knowing this would free one from the invisible shackles imposed by others, help one see the value of independent thinking and most importantly, aid one's confirmation of what is right and wrong.  Such is education.

躲貓貓

This morning started well, and my kids and i even had a chance to do the dishes together. Next, the remote control that she held in hand moments ago went missing. So, I told her we needed to find it or we couldn't really find the TV cartoon channel. During this roughly 30 minute hide-and-seek game, I gave her a lecture on the importance of keeping things in their usual place. When we finally l

ocated that remote control in a corner, that facial expression on her face told me that she may have really learned the reason behind that house rule.

太座出差勤,早上帶孩子,從準備早餐/吃飯/一起洗碗,一切順利; 袛是,我們家大姐不知怎麼回事,找不到她剛才拿在手上的電視遙控器 0..0 心想就順便機會教育一下(平時要求物有定位,也好省下找東西的時間),要她一定要找出來(不然她也沒法兒看她愛的卡通)也沒刻意幫她找,這30來分的時間內,督促她找東西,也拿著掃把,將客廳打掃一回....後來,在客廳角落裏的玩具收納裏找到....這回,由她臉上的表情來看,她應不會再亂扔東西了。

晚上出門交水電費,7-11門外遇上美麗的台灣長尾水青蛾。它的體形真是優美，令人驚艷。許多人都拿出高性能相機拍照，手上袛有簡單的手機，袛能留下這張照片。

在那個沒有個人,袛有國家的年代,持反對意見者被冠以叛國罪名,或被卑劣處決或強制軟禁而失去自由;那些其它的人,失去個人選擇和意志,被塗上一致的顏色,被要求整齊一致揮動一面旗子....

他們是好人嗎? 不是...是壞人嗎? 也不盡然...孩子，你看，紅花坂上,每一天,昇起的是一個女兒期望父親回家的心聲，並不是那面國旗。那是個如此沈重的抗議呀!

我和你母親對你的期許，希望你能平安長大，發揮才能，追求你的夢想，也讓整個社會能由你的努力,互利互惠而成就更好的未來。切記！切記！國家二字不能超越人民意志。更不能讓披著愛國主義狼皮的獨裁者來左右你的生命,操控你的選擇!!!

＂Ｌ這回又要帶人去參加小兵中區初賽；而且這回聽說上頭拿了不少采頭出來。＂

＂Ｍ桑不是上個月在忙這回事？聽說徵人時，小朋友聽到週六日都要來訓練／沒有經費的前提下，個個都打退堂鼓了嗎？那來的參賽呀？＂

＂廢話，假如通知你比賽，而準備時間僅有一個半月；除非你有長遠的準備--超過三年的經驗/去年的班底，不然就算給你出隊，不是帶人去含淚鼓掌歡送其它有專班訓練的學校嗎。而且她　把發球權一直都捏在手上，今天［出賽權］當下丟給你是她說＂這次輪到你＂；連著那些年不丟給你，也是她說＂要增加有出賽勝利的把握！＂

"哇! 這這這好像三國演義某一章節喔!!!"

專心一意的學習

今天上課，刻意的放慢步調，要求學生閉上眼，將呼吸調緩，清空心底雜念，用一份寧靜的心情，將空中英語教室的朗讀，在心裏頭，轉化為一份專心。因為專心一意的學習，是一份快樂；今日在課堂上，確實的將此訊息傳達了給學生。

    In today's class, deliberately slowed down pace, and asked kids to close their eyes, and regulate their breathing to clear up all those passing thoughts popping up here and there inside their mind. Then, with an air of calmness inside the class, they started that concentrated process of learning - listening to a lesson with their ears and hearts only. Today, instead of just following up that hectic and demanding curriculum, I followed students' heartbeats.  This, I hope, would help students understand the idea that learning is such a wonderful thing.
